Biografia
Pedro Vaz (Maputo, 1977) started his artistic career in 2005 at Módulo – Centro Difusor de Arte. He graduated in painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts - University of Lisbon in 2006
This year he was awarded at the Beers Contemporary Award for Emerging Art in London.
He exposed individually with Stimmung at the CAPC - Círculo de Artes Plásticas de Coimbra, and participated in the collective commemorative exposition 50 Years of Galeria 111, in Lisbon.
Last year he exposed individually with Laurissilva at the Galeria 111 in Lisbon and Oporto, and he participated in the subsequent group exhibitions: CAMB - Aquisições Recentes – Centro de Arte Manuel de Brito in Algés, A20 at the Galeria 111 in Oporto, and The Age of Divinity at the Plataforma Revólver in Lisbon.
In 2013 he also presented the Monólito project, supported by the Artistic Creation Projects Support Program of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, at the Carpe Diem Arte e Pesquisa and at the National Museum of Natural History and Science as part of the Temps d’Images 2013 Festival in Lisbon.
