Biografia
Mexican artist Lourdes studied Art History and Communication simultaneously at the Universidad Iberoamericana. Afterwards she formed in photography for over six years with important masters like Joe McNally, Joel Grimmes, Saul Serrano, Omar Gamez and Vida Yovanovich. Since 2013 she decided to devote herself completely to an internal search using the camera as her language.
Through her images Lourdes seeks to express a dream-magical world. Renouncing direct and documentary photography that seeks the complaint as a means to awaken the collective unconscious, opt for the search and construction of magical worlds to inspire the viewer to create different realities and, paradoxically, more consistent with our human being.
Her background as an art historian and publicist, are left to see in her work, where the main theme focuses on the reinterpretation of classic literature, mythology, classical painters and the history of humanity from a contemporary vision. Reflecting the expressive search as intense as the artist herself.
She has exhibited in Mexico at The Mexican Palace of
Fine Arts, Franz Mayer Museum, Gallery Oscar Roman, Gallery Saul Serrano, Affordable Art Fair Mexico 2014, Casa Lamm and internationally at the Love Art Fair 2015 in Toronto, Canada and the Världskulturmuseét, Gothenburg, Sweden and Loosen Art Gallery in Italy.
She was also chosen as a Select Participant on The 5th World Biennial of Student Photography in Novi Sad, Serbia (feb. 2016)
