Biografia
I am devoted to the investigation of material culture, examining everyday objects as a reflection of personal tastes and attributes as well as moral principles and social ideals. This research drives my artistic practice and materialises primarily in the form of sculptures and installations.
Chun Kai Qun is a Singaporean artist currently based in Glasgow. He received his art education, majoring in printmaking, from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, Singapore. In 2011, he is awarded the prestigious NAC Arts Scholarship (Overseas) to pursue the Master of Fine Art programme at the Glasgow School of Art, UK. He also received the Arts Creation Fund for his project The Post-Confusion Era which will be presented in 2013.
Chun has partaken extensively in art exhibitions, residencies and collaborations. His work has been shown in Singapore Art Museum, National Museum of Singapore, Esplanade Concourse (Singapore), Esplanade Jendela (Singapore), Art Stage Singapore, Singapore Management University, FOST Gallery (Singapore), Valentine Willie Fine Art (Singapore), POST-Museum (Singapore), Fukuoka Asian Art Museum (Japan), Gertrude Contemporary Art Centre (Melbourne), National Taipei University of Education (Taiwan) and The Glasgow School of Art (UK).
