Biografia
Vassilis was born in 1975 in Greece and is currently living in Amsterdam.
He uses photographs as an intuitive language between the photographer and the viewer. With his images he pursues to create feelings and bring out emotions that can be associated with the viewer’s personal history. Leaving space to the viewers to create an ownable story behind a photograph is the means to bring his own experiences into theirs. Photography is communication, a starting point for a dialogue between the photographer and the viewer. It is not a mere registration of the physical world, but a transformation of our surroundings into images we have in our minds.
He has partnered with the Ballet National de Marseille, Dimitris Papaioannou, the 7 fingers and he regularly photographs for the Bimhuis and the North Sea Jazz Club in Amsterdam.
In 2014 he was awarded an Honorable Mention at the International Photography Awards in the category Fine-Art Nudes
