Biografia
I make physical objects, often composed of many similar parts. For example, I make large collages out linocut prints. I have also used scanned images and silkscreen prints. The ground medium varies – sometimes it is just paper or canvas; other times it is encaustic wax on wood. I sometimes bind my images into books. My idea is to slow down, stop, reverse or otherwise re-propose a visual experience. This is a way of sharing my process – not just the finished product -- with the viewer. I am attracted to patterns which self-generate, reproduce, recombine and multiply. I take advantage of repetition, recursion and self-similarity. I am interested in the many temporal experiences that can be wrung or recycled from of a series of static images.
