MIN is a london based artist, having just recently settled down in seoul.
his multifaceted works began as observation films “RODENT MEMORY; A MESSAGE FROM A MOUSE, AN ABSOLUTE 'OTHER' WHOSE PRESENCE IS LACKING."
MIN's second work “1945, 1966” documented triviality of his own making of memory, covering the ‘recording’ of a family photograph.
in the strong will to record the flow of his family lineage that the family phtograph itself desire to display, there is a digitised trick present. the family members whose presence is absent in his memory but shown in the records are presented in a form of 'refined mask.' MIN shows this metaphorically to how the 'otherness' is assigned from a subjective point of view; the subject being an individual family member of a modern south korean family.
