Biografia
Dutch-born Yona Verwer is an artist and curator in New York. Her art explores identity, terrorism, tikkun olam, kabbala, and the notion of God.
Verwer holds a master’s degree in fine art from the Royal Academy of Art and has shown and curated in galleries and museums nationally and internationally.
Exhibit venues (in part):
Andy Warhol Factory, the Philadelphia Museum of Jewish Art, the Bronx Museum, the Center for Jewish History, the Mizel Museum, the Reginald Lewis Museum of African-American Art, the Stanback Museum, and the Holocaust Memorial Center.
She has been featured in the New York Times, the New Yorker, the Daily News, the Forward, the Jewish Week and the Jewish Press.
She is the co-founder and president of the Jewish Art Salon in NYC, where she organizes monthly art events and co-curated several exhibits.
