My ambition seems to be one of chasing an illusion that a memory or vision can be truly captured in a physical form. Yet if I were to capture it, I don't expect I would recognize it. In fact, if it is at all familiar, I would most likely discard it.
Until recently my process for has been notional and formulated. Now it seems to be one of discovery, looking for imperfections, relying on intuition, and following indefinite directions. The final form my work takes is something I don't want to identify as anything preconceived. Removing all intentions transports the object into an ineffable place in my imagination.
