Flora Bradwell | Short Biography

Flora Bradwell studied Fine Art Painting at City & Guilds of London Art School. Winner of the David Ballardie Travel Award in 2008, she travelled to Edinburgh Festival and found source material for her work in the varied entertainers on Edinburgh’s Royal Mile. Her playful and vibrant canvases of distorted performers are based on the circus and ideas of the facade. Recent exhibitions include Parallax AF at the Royal Galleria, One Year On (2011) Celebrating the Pomp-us at the Topolsky Gallery and New Etchings by Flora Bradwell at Pleasance (2010). She is currently working on a Clown Series inspired by the great clown Joey Grimaldi.

Flora also works on collaborative installations and projects; most recently The Museum of Ewetopia at Pleasance, Islington and The Memory Exchange at Brixton Village Market in association with Spacemakers and Lambeth Council (2010). She also collaborated on Ricardo Basbaum’s Would You Like to Participate in an artistic Experience? at the Showroom in Edgware Road in 2010 and worked as an Artist Mentor on the global Cool it Schools project headed by Jane Langley in 2009.
