Bennett uses oil, gloss, acrylic paint and gestural brushwork as part of her transformation process. Paint and subject become one, turning the superficial mass culture she is influenced by, into high art. Her personal interpretations of the human face result in paintings that are much more than portraits.
The Independent newspaper described her as one of Saatchi's 'new stars' her figurative style has been exhibited with Saatchi at London's Olympia art fair FORM, Sartorial Gallery in Kings Cross and Transition Gallery in Hackney.
Bennett is at the forefront of a new wave of painters, as she creates new identities for the anonymous and androgynous faces that she selects from the world of magazines.
