Biografia

Loyane Bianchini is an emerging artist from Sao Jose do Rio Preto - Sao Paulo, Brazil. Her former BA, was Fashion Design at FASM in Sao Paulo. Since that time, she started the investigation in textiles, later she had spent some time in Brighton studying knitting in the domestic and industrial machines.

During that time, she developed a creating process which would approached mix media with knitting, which leaded her to move to London and she could take the course BA Fine Art at Central Saint Martins, where she had just completed her degree.

Her practice embraces characteristics from knitting handcraft to digital, focusing on implementing several types of methodologies, which have been used to create a personal loom form and thread shapes, turning into a digital language.

The progressive incorporation of new technologies allows Loyane to transform objects in real and virtual capacities and establish the differences of their characteristics, meanings and perceptions. Raising questions related to the methodology of knitting and the meaning of constructing new shapes has been investigated in her work continuously.
