Biografia
I am an artist working in several places in India.
My sculptural practice engages with the tangible world in which we live;both within the domestic realm of organic materials, andwithin the realm of industrial by-products.
I work to create a coherent structure out of the materials I collect, re-presenting them for further visual contemplation. The forms and designs I engineer resemble many structures, some functional and some not. Regardless of their status,my creations reflect my attempt to understand the material world I experience.
My response to an actual object inspires me to sculpt. The evolving presence of a sculptural object initiates the imaginative spirit within me, and leads me to sculpt further works.The inception of the one idea inspires me to another, and this is an endless process.
So far, my practice has involvedthe use of natural materials that exist within my surroundings, including leaves, branches,clay and stone. This involvement has led me to develop skills in sculpting that explore the relationship of forms, as well as the interior and exterior states of these forms.
