Biografia
Studio Ayaskan is a London based experimental art and design studio formed to explore the boundaries between knowledge, curiosity, experience, technology and nature to create the unexpected and the unpredictable. Studio Ayaskan produces designs, installations and artworks with the experimental use of materials, technologies and crafts.
The studio was founded as a collaboration between twin sisters Begum and Bike Ayaskan in 2015 immediately after their Masters Degree in Design Products at the Royal College of Art, building upon their Architectural background.
The world is one big interwoven set of events and experiences that are connected, inseparable and bound by an intricate balance. Studio Ayaskan’s works, driven by an underlying love, passion and longing for nature, are intimate representations of experiences of nature, finding form in scenarios, cycles of events and loops interlaced by the harmony of the controlled and the spontaneous. Where in nature the sun is expected to follow a certain pattern each sunrise and sunset is unique. With a conceptual approach, the practice merges and explores such notions with designs, artworks and installations by challenging the precise and controlled outcome of the mechanical and the technological, with the spontaneous, unpredictable and uncontrolled fluctuations formed by time, materials and external forces and invites people to explore the possibilities of imagination.
