Biography
Valentina Lacinio (Como, 1989)
is an independent curator based in Venice.
She holds an MFA in art history and curatorial practice from IUAV University, Venice.
Her undergraduate degree is in Communications and Visual Arts from the Academy of Fine Arts, Brera, Milan.
She is currently curator for melepere Contemporary Art Gallery, Verona and also works as Communication & Events Manager for We Exhibit S.r.l. Services for Art.
In 2015 she curated the Guerrilla Marketing of the Mexican Pavilion at the 56° Biennal of Art in Venice and was the Italian Assistant of Mexican Artists Tania Candiani & Luis Felipe Ortega.
In 2014 she was Curator-in-Residence at AiC Česká Bříza | Heartbreaker, Czech Republic with the artist Valentina Furian and she worked as Art Director of "Difesa della Natura – Joseph Beuys", project room by Fondazione Bonotto at Venice International Performance Art Week 2014.
In 2013 she worked as assistant and contributor for the "René Paresce. Catalogue Raisoneè", Skira 2013, curated by Rachele Ferrario.
Some of her recent exhibitions include curatorial projects "Allagarsi_edelsteine" at ArtVerona in Verona; "Hotel Universo, nella notte transluminosa", collective exhibition in Venice; "L'enigma di Isidore Ducasse", collective exhibition in Verona and other projects which involved independent art spaces and contemporary young artists.
The latest ongoing project is "AcademyAwards 2015" at ViaFarini, Milan, a program of workshop and collective exhibition involving Italian artists and curators.
