At the end of a crowdfunding effort in Celeste Network which lasted from 1 to 31 October 2015, two projects 'La casa dell'aria' by Michele Amato and 'Operette vegetali' by Alice Padovani, received 4,760 € from the community. As organisers we would like to thank everyone who has contributed to make these two projects happen!
The two projects were among 130 projects presented to Art Rounds, a free open call which seeks to bring attention to problems related to clean air and pollution in our cities. With the monies raised the two artists will create their works in the coming months and present them in public spaces provided by the University of Verona in 2016.
Why collect funds for artists' projects? To support the work of artists and in a concrete way help make art projects happen.
I wouldn't at all be surprised if in the near future, I came across a box-like structure with the inscription 'The House of Air.' Spotlessly clean filtered air, non-allergenic and cleansing, smooth with 'sea breeze' or 'alpine freshness' essences, to inhale in a few seconds with disposable masks at a cost accessible to all!
We cannot survive without a single blade of grass! A multitude of small boxes, similar to ancient herbals. An installation that emphasizes the beauty of the everyday: thin stems, herbs, small wildflowers arranged as precious objects of nature to cherish and preserve to remind us of our fragility. Small perfectly formed plants, full of life, that over the months will dry up leaving only a faded memory of their beauty.
