Biography
Manik Katyal was nominated for the ‘Creative Entrepreneur of 2012’ award by the British Council. He is currently editor-in-chief and founder of Emaho Magazine, based out of India, the magazine was founded to introduce the work of emerging photographers and to provide them with a global platform to showcase their talent.
Manik has been invited to judge a number of photography related awards and contests including the FORMAT International Photography Festival in the United Kingdom, The Reminders Stronghold Project Grant in Japan, the Kassel Fotobook Award in Germany, the First Chinese Grand Prix IPA International Photography Award in Beijing, and the LUCEO Student Awards, the International Photography Awards and the Daylight Book Award all in the United States.
Manik has also served as a portfolio reviewer in various international festivals including FORMAT International Photography Festival, UK; Chiang Mai Documentary Arts Festival, Thailand; Angkor Photo Festival, Cambodia; Encontros da Imagem, Portugal; Les Rencontres d’Arles, France; Lens Culture Foto-Fest, France; The New York Times Portfolio Reviews, USA; Photo Ireland, Dublin; FotoFestiwal, Poland; Hamburg Triennale of Photography, Germany; Kassel Photobook Festival, Germany, and Cortona On The Move, Italy.
