BIOGRAPHY - BIOGRAPHICAL NOTES
Maurizio Gallo was born in Cagliari in 1974, but after a few years he moved to Perugia where he currently lives and works. since adolescence he has been confronted with the need to express his creativity through the elaboration of light in all its perspectives and following this passion he began collaborating in 1998 with the "Key Studio" of Perugia specialized in choreography for furnishing rooms , pub, etc .. As a person in charge of artistic light creations, in 2000 he exhibited some works at the "Pianeta Birra" event in Rimini. But the artist is constantly growing and at the same time he begins a path of painting and sculpture that he experiments passing from canonical techniques (oil, acrylic), to the use of new materials such as optical fibers, electroluminescent fibers, Plexiglas, photography, elaborating through innovative techniques mixed, highly suggestive works.
Take part in some collective exhibitions:
1. 2003: "Remo Gardeschi Painting and Sculpture Award" with the work "Nudo 1" (gas-beton and wood);
2. 2005: 1st BOE International Award for Painting, Sculpture and Graphics with the works "Dada" and "Untitled" (acrylic on canvas)
3. 2005: First prize Euro Art.Expo-Miramare;
4. 2006-07: La Spadarina Prize "Between dream and reality" with the work "Il Bacio" (beton gas and wood).
5. 2006: Solo exhibition on the occasion of "Umbria Jazz".
6. 2006: Exhibition at the "Caffè di Perugia".
7. 2007: Solo exhibition on the occasion of "Eurochocolate".
8. 2008: Participation in the collective exhibition "ARTERIE" in Magione (PG).
9. 2010: Solo exhibition at the "Galleria Cavallucci" Sermoneta (LT).
10. 2013: Personal exhibition of painting, sculpture and installations at "I Mattarelli" Restaurant Pizzeria Perugia (Pg).
