Biography
I began taking photographs at the age of 11, it’s something that comes as naturally to me as breathing. Often I make images without fully realising their meaning. It’s only later that I can piece together the pictures, like one rearranging broken glass, it is then, and only then, that I can understand what it is that I have created. This approach to image making is a tangential process.
When I was 17 I got a part time job editing pictures and shooting wedding photographs for a local studio. Though I did learn numerous technical skills, I became frustrated with the lack of originality in the type of shots made, it felt as if I was churning out the same photographs again and again. I wanted to photograph differently. To concentrate solely on the things that are not considered ‘worth’ photographing.
