My Statement
When I was a little, I felt some inspiration from old masterpiece painting. Since then, I have dreamed be a painter like them. So, I majored fine art at Kyuong Song University in Korea. After I graduated from that, I got job. Thus, I could stop practicing painting for a long time. 8 years ago, I would start painting again. I am studying figure painting in National Academy in New York City. At there, I am painting from live model almost every day.
I like at studio work, so I have been struggled figure and still life at studio. I am sure that there must be something special beauty beyond real model. Although sometimes It is so hard, I am enjoying them. I prefer naturalism. When I begin my work, I consider to find big dark shape first, how to make space, and how make color relationship, how mush looks comfortable, how much find some kind mysterious in natural way through color or light. I am live in New Jersey now. This is not urban, not a country. I want to say around me with that.
. I believe that good painting gives people some comfort and make happiness. When I got cold and hungry at ouside,, I saw Renoir’s painting. Those are so warm and comforted to me. My big goal is my painting could be like that. I wish I would be at there in a short time.
Actually, I could paint as full time from now. I devoted my painting almost whole my life.
