Biography
boîte is a free italian contemporary art magazine, with essays by university professors, art critics, students, professionals and artists. Federica Boràgina and Giulia Brivio had the idea for the magazine which was inspired by Marcel Duchamp's boîte, boxes in which he put explanations of his masterpiece Large Glass (1915-23) and small reproductions of his artwork. The aim of boîte is to talk about contemporary art with relation and strong reference to the history of art and to get people involved in our passion for Art. The first number was dedicated to Marcel Duchamp and the following three were about art techniques, collage, drawing and photography with the collaboration of main artists . The second year of boîte is dedicated to the dematerialisation of art with a number about the organic decomposition of art material. boîte#6 is about Relation art and the important projects made by Piero Gilardi, Cesare Pietroiusti, Luigi Negro, Emilio Fantin, Giancarlo Norese and Nico Docks.
