Review of an art critic, journalist and writer Fabrizio Borghini:
It may seem a paradox but the cheerful and colorful artistic universe born from the imagination of Luca Bensi, in fact conceals a clear underlying sadness.
Maremma The artist is inspired by the circus, and in particular to the figure of the clown who often hides behind the proverbial irony, a bitter twist - and sometimes tragic - admirably told in numerous films.
This dichotomy is highlighted by Bensi in almost all his works to a first reading that emit energy and vitality, but that - to a more careful reading and thorough - show the viewer the melancholy that accompanies the faces of clowns chosen by him as protagonists of his works.
The signs, which markedly flood the canvas, like a maze existential envelop the ghostly figures evoked by the artist, perhaps in search of nostalgic memories of childhood and the characters who have crossed.
The vein of fairy-tale surrealism Bensi is the key to interpreting the most congenial, the overabundance of content and color of signs, which seem to take over space in a totally disjointed, is - however - dominated by the painter who cleverly manages to create a surprisingly consistent artistic universe, a magical circus where live icons and archaic symbolism depicted with the explosive momentum of the primary colors.
