Biography

The artist created with “experimental materials”, including pop art with acrylics form the 70’s to the 80’s. Her attention was drawn to geometric forms in the period 1980 to 1993, where she studied and painted rolling hills and tiny groups of housing and geometric formations.
The year 1984 marked a turning point and she moved towards figurative expressionism using Fauves colours.
Her university background coupled to her passion for travelling has led her to anthropological, cultural and social themes, taking her inspiration form oriental religions, everyday life and the strife she met with in developing countries. She also takes inspiration from the human body, passion for and in dancing and the joy of experimenting with the spatula technique.
Of late, her “restlessness” and the wish to explore new pathways has led her down the road of symbolism, alchemy and the esoteric traditions. She is now working on full figure paintings, inspired by the 76 Tarot Cards.
