Biography

Born and living in Favara (AG).
Always driven by the call of art, a self-taught painter, his artistic talent was further refined through studies at the Art Institute of Agrigento, where he earned a Master of Arts degree in pictorial decoration. In the 1980s, he moved to Liguria for work. There, he began his first pictorial exploration, fascinated by the metaphysical world and abstract art. This peculiarity led him to develop a conception of the various styles that have endured over time, thus creating various thematic works in which he studied their spatiality, composition, and chromatic aspects, developing a truly original and autonomous artistic language. His canvases range from figurative to the more intrinsic aspects of abstraction and informal art.
Around the 1990s, he returned to Sicily, working at the Archaeological and Landscape Park of the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento. During this period, he focused his pictorial talent on the composition of large-scale works, increasingly refining his personal style in various forms, appreciated by visitors and critics in solo and group exhibitions. n his works, the chromatic choice stands out forcefully, acting as both light and contrast. The observer simultaneously captures, almost by magic, a sensation of extraordinary beauty. Their apparent stillness, however, burns and explodes in a variety of colors, enhancing their gestures.
The artist in general is a mysterious, highly skilled, profound being, capable of creating, interpreting, and interpreting a visionary or realistic reality. He is a being who, with his own particular sensitivity, manages to stimulate the sensibilities of others through his art. ano Licata has also participated in contemporary art exhibitions for charitable purposes. The proceeds from the sale of works donated by renowned masters and artists become a generous act that looks beyond the horizons of his own art, dedicating himself to the universe of love and emotion that is life. Therefore, he is not only an artist with a sensitive soul, but also a man shaped by everyday life, modest and even altruistic in times of need. This is also evidenced by his lofty act of altruism, for which in 2009 he received the Official Certificate of Merit for "Civil Valor" from the Minister of the Interior, expressing recognition and gratitude for the act performed on behalf of others. Tano Licata demonstrates his eclectic style, always seeking new stimuli, confirming his desire to discover new horizons.
