Biography
Luigi Ferracci is an Italian born in Rome artist.
During 90's he starts by playing percussions becoming a live performer in roman music scene while suddenly open himself to express to other form of arts.
He carries mainly handmade metal Innovative works, originally designed as unique pieces. His mission is recovering steel objects and materials from the daily use giving them a second life.
Luigi's African background and artistic path reflects his sensitive approach as musician and sculptor. Each creation is representing animals, anthropomorphic and mithological images.
The forms are at the same time strong and contrasted with crafted or welded curves and lines. Luigi hammers and treat metal surfaces crafting the pieces expressing tonalities and unexpected shapes. Throughout the light he lets them change and appear vivid, delicate and harmonious.
Rusted and oxidated surface are expressing the wrinkles of time and the truth of life lived by the pieces.
Luigi has been the protagonist of several of exhibitions in Italy.
