Biography

Born on May 15, 1950 in Capriglia Irpina, Felice Nittolo settled in Ravenna because of his love of mosaics. He is today one of the most important contemporary mosaic artists.
Over the course of his forty years of artistic research Nittolo has become nationally and internationally renowned for a series of proposals that were extremely provocative such as Aritmismo (1984) and the manifesto of the Nuova Tradizione (1992) though these did not represent a complete rupture. Nittolo, while defending the independence of the language of mosaic art is also aware of the intimate analogies between mosaics and theatre, mosaics and music, mosaics and poetry. Felice Nittolo is at ease in any number of expressive elements and whichever he chooses his artistic personality remains fundamentally unchanged, with mosaics forming the central point of every experience, of every orbit he completes in his pursuit of synthesis.
Of his numerous personal exhibitions and shows we should note the exhibitions at the international art fairs of Arco Madrid, Artefiera Bologna, Expo Arte Bari, Artexpo New York, Art 14 Basel, Fiac Paris.
