Biografia
My recent work celebrates dissonance through the juxtaposition of traditional analog musical instrumentation, digitally manipulated renderings of musical sound and found sound. I work with architectural spaces, projected color, shape, image animations, and the body to create interactive performances and installations.
My interests lie in the interrogation of social and cultural phenomena and structures and the complex relationship between real and virtual space. The computer is central to my studio practice as I am decidedly attracted by newness and its immediate obsolescence. I appropriate virtual forms and manipulate concepts that are unique to our time of mediated experience and re-contextualize them into real space.
I collaborate often with other artists and consider it a way to challenge my own position while experimenting with forms of social sculpture.
