Biografia
Archana Vikram is an Fine Art and Architectural photographer (b. 1971, Bombay, India). She is currently resides in Bangalore, India.
She is drawn to form and function of structures and endeavours to capture these as visualised by the architect and often beyond. Her art is interpretative of the theme and tries to present not what can be seen but what should be felt/ conveyed.
Although she works independently, Archana also enjoys collaborative projects and finds these a rich, learning & rewarding experience.
Her work will be presented in the Berlin Photo Bienniale in October, 2016. The California Museum of Photography will showcase her new series in 2017 (Mar-Jun). This will be her first solo museum presentation.
She has previously exhibited solo in various locations including the Alliance Francaise and Haworth Studios in Bangalore-India. Her work has been included in shows at the Soulcatcher Studios, SantaFe, NM, Davis-Orton Editions, NY and at Highwire ArtsSan Antonio- TX (USA), BUE-Buenos Aires Photo (Argentina), Fotoloft Gallery Moscow (Russia).
Her projects are featured in Lensculture, Paris and aCurator, NY.
She has been a Critical Mass finalist (2014) and had a winning placement in the Moscow International Foto Awards (MIFA)- 2015.
She has also been a finalist for the Julia Cameroon awards(2015), Pollux awards(2015),, Fine Art Photo awards (2014). Her projects have received an Honourable mention at the Neutral Density(ND) Awards (2014, 2015), Moscow Foto Awards (MIFA- 2015, 2016).The Lucie Foundation’s International Photography Awards (IPA-2015).
