The in[ter]vention of hybrid memories: re-making the life of the artist.The art of remembering.
Live-action fragments of memory - assembled by applying a low-tech process of stop-frame animation to a large stock of static imagery.
Intriguing remade spaces and hybrid memories are converted into short ‘home-movie’ videos (usually under three minutes) - moving pictures, aptly labelled animeSTILLLIFE©.
Completing the creative experience are original, supporting soundtracks. Described by the artist as ‘painted sound’ rather than music.
The work offers new visual narratives that rematerialize various aspects of the artist’s own lived experience. Producing evidence that some memories can be both actual and artificial at the same time.
