Prize calls, Italy, Pistoia, 15 December 2020
The Nuova Fondazione Rossana and Carlo Pedretti, in collaboration with Futura Art Gallery in Pietrasanta, calls on artists and designers to create the design for a commemorative award, The Pedretti Medal for Arts and Sciences. The metal will be bestowed upon renowned scholars who have particularly distinguished themselves for having contributed to spread the knowledge of Leonardo and of the Renaissance.
The public call for proposals, whose participation is open to all artists and designers of any nationality and age who want to develop an original project for the conception and subsequent production of a commemorative medal. The project must take into account both the logo of the Nuova Fondazione Rossana and Carlo Pedretti and the figures of Rossana and Carlo Pedretti, the dedicatees of the foundation. The projects will be evaluated by a jury composed of the Board of Directors of the Nuova Fondazione Rossana and Carlo Pedretti and influential personalities from the contemporary art world who will select – on the basis of the project, the CV and the portfolio – a winner who will receive a net prize of € 500 (five hundred euros) and who will have the task of translating his project into medal at the foundry chosen by the foundation for the casting. The best projects will be the subject of an exhibition to be organized both online and in person, health restrictions allowing.
