THE BIRTH OF AN IDEA
Exhibitions, United Kingdom, London, 21 November 2013
The Westbourne Grove Church Artspace Notting Hill London is delighted to welcome back Ida Ivanka Kubler for a solo show from the 21st of November 2013 to 4th of January 2014. The private view will be held on the 21st of November, 6-9pm. The Westbourne Grove Church Artspace is situated in the heart of Notting Hill at Westbourne Grove W11 2RW.

For this exhibition Ida Ivanka Kubler will present new artwork pieces from her successful series “The Birth of an Idea”. These artworks are rectangular painted canvases with sculptured, colored and arranged silk cocoons. The resulting half-object paintings are kaleidoscopic. Tension is created by the silk cocoon groupings and contrasting colors. The repetition in her artwork is at once geometric and ordered but is also subversive in its use of color. The overall effect is one that the viewer finds instantly known, visceral and transcendent or what the artist calls “imaginative touch”. The artist says “My art introduces the viewer to the passions of tactile experiences, which I feel when I am producing those artworks”. “The Birth of an Idea” series has been recognised by the Behring Institute for Medical Research as having a positive influence on health. The artwork is deemed to promote relaxation in the viewer.

Ida Ivanka Kubler is living and creating in London. She has an international reputation and has worked worldwide including Germany, France, Bulgaria, Norway, USA and UK.
