A set of blatantly calm faces are contrasted with the
sexual and painful action the body is put through. A silent
and patient distress where the skin is unresponsive, tact
vanishes and the body becomes the fabric upon which needle
and thread tattoo meticulous floral patterned embroideries.
Taking back a naked, blatant, conscious yet pierced body.
A tale about women, sisters, lovers and witches,
mischievously playing with their powers and their liaisons,
accomplices of unutterable secrets.
Jara Marzulli arouses the enchantment of a path that’s
always existed through the ages of women’s history. Women
that now, as does Jara with her painting, scar the body with
drawings and garnishments, rubbed in a profound
reminescence: superficial embroideries of which only the
indelible scars will stay.
