“ From my childhood I began to draw faces, I was always oriented on this sense so I was born as a portraitist. The characters you see on my paintings are al people I’ve met and most of the time they have inspired me with their own life... So I was born as a portraitist but people around me is my intermediary fthat I use for tell about my generation , revealing that with the power of the imagination, the metaphoric meanings and the symbols : the appearence cult , the arrogance, the collapsed ideals, the decadence of our western culture that is now in a capitalistic way and else, at a dying point, in decline.
I've also alwys chanelled my attention to the different stages of the human condition, the psychological disease that sometimes i've suffered to , gorging psychoanalysis and criminolgy essays but with never forgetting the adventure novel and exploring life on the street also on his most marginal aspect. On my reaserch i've also done the struggle with that particular conundrum that is "fakirism" partcullary chanelled abou the female condition , makinf me a lot of time the question that in wich way we could face the pain in evry contest.
I just love references about antiquity and my affiliation culture, maybe falso because of the storic and intellectual storical burden that my family had in the past and I'm daughter of a dying world : the Istrian decadent aristocracy tha for the ideals has decided to abnegate all but not the dignity. those references I'm talking about un-contexted and transformed on a new shape.
On my pictoral method you can see emerging a classic and an academical nature , that want once to be hidden mocking , undisclosed and being mocked or turning up for make a despite. -:...surrealism, realism, hyper-realism , grotesque :everything is foundering trying to describe about what Nike does. So, I could say That her "paint-brush" is the a shipwreck of different styles...- has remarked Giuseppe D' Aura.
but the only the picture was not satisfying me , so my curiousity pushed me to explore others sides of the visual art and made me wonder to utilize others instruments for interpretate same concepts. So, why not to let them interacting and giving new life each others?
I've started to wish my paintings could be "alive" and I've always being drawn by the concept of the "tableau vivant", it's already a few time I'm playing with the concept of the frame bounded to the painting (often the frame it's painted directly on the picture) : now I see the picture moving from the canvas, bringing wth his-self "fictional frame" for give life at human installations. It's exactly this what i would do fom now : my living pictures will be contastly on a metamorphys , blinking at the aesthetic poetry of my paintings.
