PRISON PRIVACY

PRISON PRIVACY

Installation, Fantasy / Visionary, Video installation, 300x150cm
The artwork “Prison Privacy,” deliberately bombards the viewer, with a collection of visual image layers to be read, as a narrative within itself. This packaging of the collected visual information in my work often parallels with various media systems, drawings, texts, sculptures and animations.
These images are reflections from stories, songs and rhymes of childhood, that are then woven with a deep concern regarding a girl’s (the character’s)life.
Traces of the character’s presences in the form of objects, videos, are left in various points from where a narrative can be pieced together.
“She was a lonely girl in a lonely world; this action takes place in a world gone from where our little girl tries to escape.”
Can you see me? I’m changing! Come and hold me. Yes, I’m that little girl. I close my eyes and I calculate how many jumps fit in my glass box.
Every time the result is different.
One wrong movement, one wrong step and the whole system has collapsed.
I want to escape from the Prison of my dreams and thoughts.
I want my life to be upside down and me to be upright. I do acrobatics just in case they forget me.
