PAPA FRANCESCO ROCK

PAPA FRANCESCO ROCK

Painting, Portrait, Oil, 40x50cm
''PAPA ROCK''

First of all I would like to point out that I feel a strong spiritual and human enthusiasm for Pope Francis, for me he is the first Pope who conveyed true feelings to me. Therefore, it is clear that the work I have created was born from the heart and not with the purpose to mock this great public figure. The title I gave to this contemporary painting is ''The Rock Pope'' Pope Francis embellished with piercings and neck tattoos, so that some apparently frightening, rebellious, etc. young people could see a reference in Him. A lot of people linger over physical appearance while marginalizing some of those young people who try to express their beautiful or ugly feelings in their own way. A Pope who rebels against everything that is neither love nor truth is UNIQUE to me! I see him very far from the ecclesiastical hierarchies and I wanted him to be Rock just like so many young people who do not appear superficial but actually direct, courageous, loving and concrete. Appearances are sometimes deceiving and unfortunately people are sure that visible simplicity is reliable. God protect Pope Francis!

''ROCK ART CIOTOLA – ARTISTIC MOVEMENT''

The "Rock Art Ciotola" is an Artistic Movement that began in 2018, founded by Master Raffaele Ciotola, with the aim of giving a Rock-style makeover to prominent figures from all over the world.

This unique stylistic approach fully expresses the sensitive and empathetic nature of its creator, who is deeply connected to every form of art and beauty. Master Ciotola draws from youth culture and trends, translating them into his painting, where the charm of classic, finely detailed craftsmanship merges with a bold and alternative character.

The “Rock Art Ciotola” style is defined by its portrayal of figures adorned with tattoos – especially from the shoulders up to the neck – with the intention of elevating their appearance to its highest aesthetic potential. The subjects also wear extravagant earrings and embrace daring, rebellious looks.
The goal is not to ridicule or mock them – quite the opposite. The painter seeks to enhance their appeal, always with the utmost respect.

With his Rock Art, Master Ciotola initiates a nonconformist art form that uses classical techniques to express the essence of the Rock spirit of the new millennium. These artworks carry strong media value: this pictorial current is meant to capture the public's full attention. At the same time, it firmly conveys the importance of treating each subject with elegance, sensitivity, responsibility, and respect.

In fact, the creator of Rock Art, Master Ciotola, encourages future followers of this style to always put the dignity of the portrayed figures first, never ridiculing or offending them, nor turning them into caricatures. Doing so would undermine the clear mission of this Artistic Movement: even in its creative freedom, art must never offend — it must only uplift and enhance.
