Lifecycle

This landscape resulted from observing a white blossoming tree growing in the old churchyard of St Georges, Esher, Surrey during Spring 2017. What attracted me to the subject was the contrast between the new life represented by the blossoms and death represented by the graveyard. I was also inspired by the pictures of blossoming trees depicted by Vincent van Gogh in the orchards near Arles in the Spring of 1888.
