Flag Variation

I start with well-known visual symbols (the flags of various countries), deconstruct and reassemble them, according to schemes which are sometimes random, and sometimes mathematical or combinatorial. In our global village, flags (at least, the entities they stand for) are becoming absorbed, altered, reconfigured. This series is an attempt to abstract and depersonalize my own experience as an adult immigrant who has become a `dual citizen.’
