mer convent is now a private home. the painter Frank Burty Haviland (1878-1972) rich heir of the famous porcelain of Limoges Charles Havilland, moved there permanently after several stays in Vallespir.
In 1948 Franck Pierre Brune and Burty Haviland help to create the Museum of Modern Art in Ceret. Many artists (Picasso, Matisse, Soutine, Dufy, Masson, Picabia ...) will stay the 20th century the Capuchins.
